Built for Tough Workshop Conditions

Workshop floors cop a fair bit of punishment. Our flooring systems are built to stand up to:

  • Oils, grease, fuel, and coolant spills
  • Tyre marks and vehicle hoists
  • Dropped tools and heavy machinery
  • High foot traffic and workshop trolleys
  • Daily cleaning with chemicals or pressure washing

We use durable materials that are made to last in tough conditions, and we make sure every surface is properly prepared to ensure long term performance.

Two options we recommend for workshop flooring:

  • Epoxy Flooring
  • Polyurethane Cement

A) EPOXY FLOORING

Epoxy workshop flooring is a popular option for mechanical workshops thanks to its strength and versatility. We use high quality, commercial grade epoxy that bonds tightly to the concrete and creates a hard wearing, seamless surface.

Benefits of epoxy flooring include:

  • Resistant to oils, fuels, brake fluids, and cleaning products
  • Seamless surface that’s easy to clean and maintain
  • Custom colours and finishes to suit your brand or space
  • Available in high gloss or matte finishes
  • Can include slip resistant textures for added safety
  • Fast installation with minimal downtime

Our epoxy workshop floors are installed in multiple layers to give you a thick, reliable surface that stands up to day to day workshop work.

B) POLYURETHANE CEMENT FLOORING

For workshops with extreme conditions or constant exposure to harsh chemicals and hot water, polyurethane cement (also called PU cement) is often the best choice.

Polyurethane cement is ideal for:

  • Heavy duty industrial workshops
  • High temperature washdowns
  • Areas exposed to chemical spills
  • Where extra slip resistance is required

This type of floor is thicker than epoxy, highly impact-resistant, and can cope with thermal shock — meaning it won’t crack or peel if hot fluids are spilled. It’s also a great option if hygiene is a priority, as it offers a seamless, easy-to-clean finish.

MECHANICAL WORKSHOP FLOORING

Installation Process

Our proven flooring systems follow a meticulous process, designed for mechanical workshops:

1. Surface Preparation:  High grade mechanical grinding and dust removal to ensure excellent bonding.
2. Primer (Optional):  Apply a moisture-sealing primer to stabilise substrate and block uptake.
3. Base Coat:  High build epoxy, often mortar based, for impact and load resistance.
4. Decorative Layer:  Flake, quartz, or metallic additives applied for durability and aesthetics.
5. Top Coat:  Clear, abrasion resistant clear coat with optional anti-slip grade.
6. Curing & Commissioning:  Typically ready in ~48 hours, minimising workshop downtime.

Safety Comes First

We understand the importance of safety in a workshop setting. All of our floors can be finished with non-slip textures and coatings to help reduce the risk of slips and falls — especially in areas where oils and liquids are present. We’ll recommend the right finish based on how your space is used.

Minimal Disruption

MAXIMUM RESULTS

We know time is money, so we plan our installations carefully to minimise disruption to your business. Most mechanical workshop floors can be prepped and completed over a few days, depending on the size and complexity of the job. Our team will work with you to find the best time to schedule the project.

Frequently Asked Questions

The best flooring for mechanical workshops is typically epoxy or polyurethane cement. These options are durable, chemical-resistant, and easy to clean, making them ideal for workshops with heavy machinery, oil spills, and regular traffic.

Epoxy flooring is strong, seamless, and resistant to oils, fuels, and chemicals. It also looks professional and is easy to maintain, making it perfect for busy mechanical workshops and service centres.

Epoxy flooring is a seamless, hard-wearing surface made by applying layers of epoxy resin over concrete floors. This type of flooring is particularly beneficial for factories and manufacturing plants due to its robust nature, making it a cost-effective solution for high-traffic areas. Its resistance to oil, chemicals, and wear makes it ideal for industrial environments.

Polyurethane cement is ideal for workshops that deal with high temperatures, frequent washdowns, and harsh chemicals. It’s thicker and more impact-resistant than epoxy, but both systems can be tailored depending on your needs.

Most mechanical workshop floors can be installed in 2 to 4 days, depending on the size and condition of the concrete. We work quickly and efficiently to minimise downtime for your business.

Yes. We can apply a non-slip finish to your epoxy or polyurethane floor using special textures or additives. This helps improve safety, especially in areas exposed to oil or water.

Absolutely. Our epoxy workshop flooring systems are highly resistant to oil, fuel, brake fluid, and other chemicals commonly found in mechanical workshops.

Cleaning is simple. Most workshop floors just need a mop or scrubber with water and a mild detergent. The seamless surface means there are no grout lines or gaps where dirt can hide.

Yes. We offer warranties on our epoxy and polyurethane workshop flooring systems. The warranty length depends on the product and usage, but we stand by our workmanship and materials.

Costs vary based on the size of your space, condition of the existing surface, and the type of workshop flooring system you choose. Contact us for a free, no-obligation quote tailored to your workshop.

Yes, when properly installed, epoxy flooring creates a safe working surface. Non-slip additives can be included for extra safety in areas where spills are likely.

The installation of polyurethane workshop flooring is a straightforward process that can usually be completed within a few days, depending on the size of the factory floor. A brief curing period is required, after which the floor is ready for use, providing a durable, cost-effective flooring solution for manufacturing environments.
